Red Ribbon Week 2024: Life is a Movie, Film Drug-Free!

At Iroquois Elementary, we are excited to celebrate Red Ribbon Week from October 21-25. Our theme this year is "Life is a Movie, Film Drug-Free!" Throughout the week, we will focus on being safe, kind, responsible, and brave leaders. Each day will feature a special dress theme and activity to help reinforce these important values.

Here’s what’s planned for each day:

Monday, October 21: Be Safe

  • Dress Theme: Wear black & yellow for safety.

  • Activity: Get ready for the Zombie Run! Classrooms will also begin decorating doors for our Door Decorating Contest.

Tuesday, October 22: Be Kind

  • Dress Theme: Wear red for kindness.

  • Activity: Students will write kind letters to their buddies or friends.

Wednesday, October 23: Be Responsible

  • Dress Theme: Wear blue for responsibility.

  • Activity: Students will organize their desks/lockers. The Desk Fairy might leave a surprise for the most organized space!

Thursday, October 24: Be Brave

  • Dress Theme: Wear Iroquois gear or colors.

  • Activity: Classes will practice mindfulness and relaxation exercises. Door decorations for the contest are due by noon.

Friday, October 25: Be a Leader

  • Dress Theme: Wear superhero gear.

  • Activity: Students will practice being leaders by including others and giving compliments. The IES community will also vote on the best-decorated door!

Door Decorating Contest:
Throughout the week, students and classrooms will decorate their doors, showing what a drug-free life looks like. Voting is open to students, staff, and the IES community, and the winners will be announced on Tuesday, October 29.

Don’t Miss Out!
We’ll also have special presentations and Red Ribbon Week goodies to keep the fun going. Let’s all come together to support our students in making safe, kind, and responsible choices!
