That means fostering academic achievement, ensuring positive peer relationships, and preparing students for a successful high school career that will lead to success after graduation from school.

MEET THE COUNSELOR

Greetings,

My name is Sandra Smith and I am excited to be here at IES! My goal as a school counselor is to create a working partnership between students, families, teachers, and the community in order to provide the best possible school experience for all IES students. I would like to invite all parents/guardians to contact me if they have a concern about their child, if they have a suggestion for our school, or would like to donate their time to the growth of our school.

You are also welcome to complete the Counselor-Parent Meeting Form, printable version available HERE. Once completed, please feel free to turn it into the IES school office in a sealed envelope addressed to my attention.

COUNSELING SERVICES OFFERED AT IES

  • Individual student meetings - Set up as needed to address academic, personal, social, or emotional students needs.

  • Student group meetings - Set up as needed to address academic, personal, social, or emotional student needs.

  • Lunch Bunch - Student lunches in the counselor's room held to facilitate positive peer interaction, promote social inclusion and facilitate social skill development. Open to all students year-round.
