Iroquois Jr/Sr High School is taking an extra step to protect your student-athlete by providing cardiovascular testing.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest is caused by an abnormality in the heart's electrical system or structure that abruptly stops the heartbeat. Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of death for athletes on school campuses. According to the American Heart Association, in the United States, a young athlete dies every three days from SCA. These same students had all passed their physicals and had been cleared for athletics. In 80% of these cases, no warning signs or symptoms were leading up to the cardiac arrest.
To register your student athlete/student for the testing, please visit the appointment page: CAPPO HEALTH REGISTRATION LINK
